Welcome to the Jacksonville Health Facilities Authority webpage. The Authority was created to support the development, improvement, and maintenance of health facilities within the City by providing a method for financing and refinancing projects on a tax-exempt basis, helping improve access to medical care and reduce health care costs.
Legislative Authority: Jacksonville Municipal Code Chapter 490 (Jacksonville Health Facilities Authority); statutory authority pursuant to Florida Statutes Chapter 154, Part III.
Total Members: The Jacksonville Health Facilities Authority includes 5 seats (City Council appointments).
Committee Duties: The Authority’s public purpose is to help provide appropriate additional means to assist in the financing and refinancing of health facilities projects on behalf of qualifying not-for-profit health care providers, supporting the public health and living conditions of the community.
Meeting Schedule: The Authority does not regularly meet and convenes only as needed. Public meeting dates and notices are posted on the Boards and Commissions Events Calendar.
