Jacksonville Health Facilities Authority

Welcome to the Jacksonville Health Facilities Authority webpage. The Authority was created pursuant to Jacksonville Municipal Code Chapter 490 and Florida Statutes Chapter 154, Part III, to provide a method for financing and refinancing health facilities projects on a tax-exempt basis in support of public health and access to medical care.

Legislative Authority:  Jacksonville Municipal Code Chapter 490 (Jacksonville Health Facilities Authority); statutory authority pursuant to  Florida Statutes Chapter 154, Part III.

Total Members: The Jacksonville Health Facilities Authority includes 5 seats (City Council appointments).

Purpose: The Authority’s public purpose is to provide appropriate additional means to assist in the financing and refinancing of health facilities projects on behalf of qualifying not-for-profit health care providers, supporting the public health and living conditions of the community.

Meeting Schedule: The Authority does not regularly meet and convenes only as needed. Public meeting dates and notices are posted on the Boards and Commissions Events Calendar.
