The Jacksonville Center of Performing Arts was built in 1997 by the Centex Rooney Construction Company. It has 20,000 square feet of lobby/reception space. The JCPA accommodates such events as Broadway shows, orchestras, corporate general sessions, receptions dinners, and community recitals. The JCPA has three separate theaters: the Jim & Jan Moran Theatre, Jacoby Symphony Hall, and Terry Theatre. Recent Broadway musicals held at JCPA include Wicked and Cats. Previous performances at JCPA have featured a variety of headlining artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Kelly Clarkson, Rodney Atkins, Jason Mraz and Sheryl Crow.

It primarily serves Jacksonville and Duval County, and is also used by the neighboring Baker, Nassau, Clay, and St. Johns Counties. It is one of the largest library systems in Florida, with a collection of over three million items. A division of the city government, the library has the third largest group of city employees after the city's Fire Department and Sheriff's Office. There are twenty branches and a Main Library in the system.

Kona is the world's oldest skate park and features courses for skateboards & BMX, plus camps, contests, lessons & equipment rentals. Lessons are available for boys and girls six years old and up. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Sessions are available for all ages. Kona Camp is a weekly camp for skaters ages 6 – 16, and welcomes skaters of all abilities. Campers will get to experience all types of skateboarding including but not limited to street, vert, pools, flatland and downhill racing.
