Pedestrian & Bicycle Planning
Bicycle and pedestrian planning is led by the Transportation Planning Division within the Planning Department. Our mission is to plan for and support a safe, connected, and equitable walking and bicycling network that enhances mobility and quality of life for all people who live in, work in, and visit Jacksonville.
Our work is guided by Jacksonville’s Vision Zero commitment and the Safe Systems Approach, with a focus on eliminating traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries. Projects and programs are prioritized to expand safe, comfortable, and connected networks that serve people of all ages and abilities.
Walking and bicycling are essential components of a balanced transportation system, providing cost-effective, sustainable options that improve mobility, enhance air quality, support public health, and contribute to a higher quality of life for Jacksonville’s residents and visitors.
