Promises Made
Every neighborhood has a story to tell, and over these past years, District 7 has been writing one defined by resilience, opportunity, and community. Since 2023, we have continued building on the belief that every resident deserves a safe place to call home, every family deserves the opportunity to thrive, and every neighborhood deserves the investments needed to flourish. Jacksonville is committed to reinvesting in neighborhoods throughout the urban core by expanding affordable housing, improving infrastructure, supporting local businesses, and creating safer and more connected communities.

Since 2023, more than 893 affordable homes—including Boyan Flats and the Union Terminal Warehouse Company—have become more than new addresses on a map. They stand as symbols of stability and possibility, creating opportunities for families, seniors, and working residents to plant roots, build futures, and find a place where they belong.
Across the district, the story of renewal can be seen in brighter streets, revitalized parks, and public spaces filled with new energy. Through 415 lighting improvements, 39 park updates, 1,799 accessible ramps, and 13 public works projects, we have strengthened the places where children play, neighbors gather, and communities come together. Each investment is a thread in a larger tapestry—one that is making District 7 safer, stronger, and more connected.
Woven throughout this progress is the determination and entrepreneurial spirit of local businesses. 80 Jacksonville Small and Emerging Businesses have expanded opportunities, created jobs, and strengthened the commercial corridors that serve as the lifeblood of our neighborhoods. Behind every storefront, service, and growing business is a story of hard work, perseverance, and a belief in the future of the community they serve.
These achievements are more than projects completed or milestones reached. They are the chapters of a shared story—one written by families finding stability, entrepreneurs creating opportunity, and neighbors investing in one another. Together, they tell the story of a district that continues to rise, grow stronger, and move forward with purpose, proving that the greatest progress is built not only through investment, but through the people who call District 7 home.
