Why did the City launch a merch store?
The City of Jacksonville launched the City Swag Store to give residents and fans of Jacksonville a fun way to celebrate local pride while supporting public engagement and outreach.
The store brings together official City merchandise inspired by Jacksonville neighborhoods, landmarks, departments, programs and community initiatives, along with a curated selection of hyperlocal merchandise from independent Jacksonville shops and makers.
Who designs the official City merchandise?
Official Public Affairs collections sold through Zazzle and Sticker Mule are designed in-house by the City of Jacksonville Public Affairs team using existing staff resources and creative expertise.
Merchandise offered by other City departments or programs may be designed and managed separately. Products featured in the Shop Local Jacksonville section are created and sold independently of the City.
Why does the City use Zazzle and Sticker Mule?
Zazzle and Sticker Mule allow the Public Affairs team to offer merchandise without purchasing large quantities of inventory, storing products or handling individual order fulfillment.
- Zazzle offers a broad selection of print-on-demand products with direct-to-consumer ordering and shipping.
- Sticker Mule specializes in items such as stickers, pins and magnets and fulfills orders directly.
- Both platforms allow products to be offered without the City maintaining physical inventory.
This model keeps the Public Affairs merchandise program simple and minimizes the staff time required for inventory management, shipping and customer service.
Does the City receive money from merchandise sales?
The City Swag Store is intended primarily as a public engagement initiative, not as a fundraising program.
- Public Affairs products sold through Zazzle include a 10% royalty. Any royalties received support Public Affairs community education and outreach efforts in accordance with City Ordinance 111.105(c).
- Public Affairs products purchased through Sticker Mule are sold at cost, with no additional City markup or royalty.
- Merchandise sold through other City department storefronts may use different pricing, fulfillment and revenue models.
- The City does not receive proceeds from purchases made through businesses or organizations featured in the Shop Local Jacksonville section.
What is Shop Local Jacksonville?
Shop Local Jacksonville is a curated collection of independent businesses, organizations, makers and retailers offering merchandise inspired by Jacksonville's neighborhoods, landmarks, culture and community.
These businesses and organizations are independent of the City of Jacksonville. Inclusion on the City Swag Store page is for informational purposes and does not constitute City endorsement. Purchases are made directly through each retailer or organization, and the City does not receive proceeds from those sales or manage orders, returns or customer service.
Who handles orders, shipping, returns and customer service?
Orders are handled by the retailer or storefront where the purchase is made.
- For Public Affairs merchandise sold through Zazzle or Sticker Mule, ordering, payment, shipping, returns and customer service are handled directly by those vendors.
- Other City departments with their own storefronts may manage fulfillment according to their own operations.
- For products featured under Shop Local Jacksonville, all transactions and customer service are handled directly by the independent retailer or organization.

What about City departments with their own storefronts?
Some City departments and programs manage merchandise separately from the Public Affairs collections. For example, the Office of Sports & Entertainment operates a separate storefront for merchandise associated with events such as the Jacksonville Jazz Festival.
These storefronts may use different inventory, pricing, fulfillment and revenue models based on their individual operations. The City Swag Store brings these collections together in one place so visitors can more easily discover City-affiliated Jacksonville merchandise.
How can I tell whether merchandise is City-affiliated?
The City Swag Store is organized to make that distinction clear:
- City of Jacksonville Merchandise, Departments & Programs, and City Initiatives & Campaigns feature City-affiliated merchandise.
- Shop Local Jacksonville features merchandise from independent businesses and organizations that are not operated by the City.

Why “swag”?
We know “swag” might not be everyone's favorite word, but we're proudly owning it. It's simple, familiar and brings the right amount of fun to a civic project built around community pride.
There's even a little Jacksonville nostalgia behind the store: the Public Affairs designer behind many of the collections is a Jacksonville native who grew up playing the Rex hole at Goony Golf. That local connection eventually helped inspire the City's own dino-themed merch.
The word may be casual, but the Jax pride is real.
