JHPC Landmarking Committee

The Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission (the “Commission”) was established via Chapter 76, Ordinance Code, to carry forward the purposes of the National Historic Preservation Act. The Commission is charged with conducting an ongoing survey and inventory of historic buildings, areas, and archaeological sites in the City of Jacksonville, to plan for their preservation, and to identify potential landmarks, landmark sites, and landmark signs. 

Objectives

The Landmarking Committee is charged to address the following:
  1. Identify potential landmarks, landmark sites, and landmark signs.
  2. Provide information and resources to the owners of identified potential landmarks, landmark sites, and landmark signs.
  3. Promote landmark designation to interested owners.
