The Military Affairs and Veterans Department plays a pivotal role in advancing Jacksonville’s mission to be the most military-friendly city in the country. This series of veteran-related dashboards increases transparency into the department’s efforts to expand military outreach, increase job opportunities, and improve the quality of services provided to veterans. The dashboards also showcase the demographics of Jacksonville’s veteran population and emphasize the critical issue of veteran suicide.  
Annual Performance
This Military and Veterans Affairs Annual Performance Dashboard tracks six key metrics over the past four fiscal years, offering a high-level overview of the department's impact. The dashboard features key statistics such as the number of homeless or at-risk veterans assisted and the number of veterans placed into employment.

Veteran Census
The Veteran Census Dashboard section leverages data from the 2023 American Community Survey to provide insights into the composition of Duval County's veteran population, including key factors such as age, gender, and more. It’s important to note that disclosing veteran status on the census is voluntary, meaning the data may not capture the full scope of the veteran community. As a result, the actual veteran population could be higher than the numbers presented.

Veteran Suicides
This Veteran Suicides Dashboard highlights the critical issue of veteran suicide specifically in Duval County, from 2010-2023. It visualizes data from www.thefirewatch.org/data to provide insights into the number of veteran suicides, trends over time, and the demographics of affected individuals in our community. By raising awareness about the magnitude of this crisis, we aim to bring attention to the urgent need for mental health support and resources for veterans.
