Commission on the Status of Women

Within its authority, the Commission shall act to: 

  • Develop a public consciousness of the talents of women, with special emphasis on the utilization of those talents as equal partners in the private, business, governmental and civic community;

  • Encourage women to become actively involved in matters pertaining to the government and community; 

  • Work toward utilization of capable women in roles of leadership;

  • Act as a source of information for women including, but not limited to, employment opportunities, education, harassment, and discrimination against women; and

  • Focus attention on the needs of underserved women and/or women with special needs.

UPCOMING EVENTS


NEXT MEETING: MCSW Commission Meeting, Monday, 22 April 2024 at 5:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the Regency Library, 9900 Regency Square Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32225.


CDC guidelines will be adhered to due to COVID-19. Space for attendance in the Small Conference Room will be limited due to social distancing and no more than 7 people are permitted to congregate in the Small Conference Room. Concurrent with the expiration of Emergency Executive Proclamation 2020-005, any member of the public entering City-owned public buildings may choose to wear a mask inside the building.
