The Traveling Memorial Wall goes throughout the U.S. to honor & remember those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in Vietnam. 
They sacrificed, as did their families and caregivers. More than 58,000 Americans made the ultimate sacrifice.  Over 300,000 more were wounded and injured, and more than 1,500 service members are still missing in action.  These MIAs are not forgotten.  Our Nation's efforts to bring them home will never stop.  Jacksonville is home to the National POW-MIA Memorial and Museum.

The World's Largest Golf Outing (WLGO) is about having a great day of golf with friends, family and colleagues, while benefiting Fisher House Foundation (FHF). Fisher House Foundation is a non-profit which is best known for a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. This WLGO event is an 18 hole four person team scramble format. The registration fee includes a $10 per player donation, green fee, lunch, warm up bucket, local prizes and awards ceremony following play.

Licensed attorneys will be available to speak one-to-one with Veterans in 20-minute interviews. All veterans are encouraged to bring legal questions in any area of law and to bring any relevant documents pertaining to their matters. Veterans sign up to speak individually with Florida licensed attorneys. Veterans sign up anytime between 11:30 and 1:00 and are encouraged to come early. Services beyond legal consultation are subject to income guidelines. An income-qualifying Veteran may request that his/her legal matter be considered for full legal representation. Information on additional free and low-cost legal services is provided.

Additionally, after the Memorial Day Weekend is concluded , these gravesite flags will be picked up on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. These events are open to the public.

The City of Jacksonville Military Affairs and Veterans Department, in coordination with Three Rivers Legal Services, Inc. (TRLS) and Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps, will host its free monthly legal consultation for veterans and their families.
 
Three Rivers Legal Services provides assistance with family Law (limited), social security/SSI, discharge review assistance, VA pensions, guardianship for disabled, unfair collections, last will and testament, and various other civil legal services.

The City of Jacksonville Military Affairs and Veterans Department and Three Rivers Legal Services are dedicated to helping veterans and their families with their legal needs. If you would like to be considered for further assistance, applications for representation will be available.

The venue is the beautiful Championship Golf Course on Naval Air Station Jacksonville – a demanding 6,890 yard, par 72 that winds through tree-lined fairways complemented with rich blue lakes. It’s one of the finest golf courses in the Jacksonville area and at the top of golfers’ playlist. Registration is 9am, with Shotgun Start at 10am. A continental breakfast, a post-round luncheon is included along with many raffles and prizes for all participants, rounding out a great program and day of fun!

The goal of the Troops Championship is to “sponsor” our local troops with a free day of golf and well-deserved R&R! Approximately half the field is made up of active duty foursomes and it is a wonderful and fulfilling outing in honor of America’s finest that represent Jacksonville so well.
