Breakfast with Our Heroes

The public is invited to the Breakfast with Our Heroes to honor Purple Heart recipients, meet those that served and extend helping hands to homeless veterans in reemployment programs. Salute our Nation’s Combat Wounded to commemorate the upcoming August 7th National Purple Heart Day.  Show your love and appreciation to Purple Heart Veterans and buy tickets for their breakfast. 
 
Where: Applebee’s, 5055 J. Turner Butler, Jacksonville 32216 near I-95 and US-1
When: Saturday, August 3, 2019, from 8 to 10 a.m.
Seating is limited:  Cost is $12 each or 3 for $30 for 6 for $54.
Purple Heart Veterans:  Complimentary

First Responders Understanding our Veterans: Mental Health, Risk of Suicide

Join the Department of Veterans Affairs for an 8 hour presentation by Department of Veterans Affairs Police and Mental Health specialists. This training aims to improve First Responders engagement with Veterans in crisis, teaches audience about Post Deployment issues combat Veterans may experience upon returning home, focusing on Mental Health, Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) and Suicide Prevention This training also provides an opportunity to connect First Responders who are Veterans themselves.

  • PTSD and other Clinical issues.
  • De-Escalation and practical tips.
  • Real Life Scenarios
  • Stigma And Suicide Prevention for both the Veteran and First Responder.
