Special Events for Seniors

2026-SS-Calendar-(2).jpgThe Special Events for Seniors Office enables Jacksonville's seniors to enjoy cultural, educational, social and recreational events and to be recognized as valued members of the community. Individuals 60 and over (50 and older for Senior Games) are encouraged to participate. All events require an registration or ticket for admission.

2026 Annual Senior Events

Walk for Senior Wellness

Friday, March 20th 10 A.M - 1 P.M.
Friendship Fountain 1015 Museum Cir. Jacksonville, Fl 32207 

Seniors enjoy a scenic walk while celebrating their fitness and health! Attendees participate in healthy, active programs such as stretching and dancing before the walk. Registered participants will receive senior swag along with free lunch! Completion of the registration form is required to participate. Registration is limited and ends when capacity is reached. Fish-A-Thon

Friday, April 3rd  10 A.M. - 3 P.M.
Hanna Park 500 Wonderwood Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32233​

Seniors enjoy a day of fishing, dancing and dining at Hanna Park. Fishing tournament awards are given for largest fish, smallest fish, most fish, prettiest fish and ugliest fish. This event also includes lawn games, a picnic table decorating contest, and a live DJ and dance floor. 

 

Bash at the Ballfield

Wednesday, May 6th  11 A.M. - 3 P.M.
121 Financial Ballpark 301 A Philip Randolph Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32202

Seniors enjoy a minor-league baseball game and a traditional ballpark meal at no cost! Transportation is provided to and from their local senior centers.


 

 

Senior Expo

Wednesday and Thursday May 20th -21st 
Wednesday and Thursday November 4th - 5th  9 A.M. - 3 P.M.
University of North Florida Adam Herbert Center 

Join the City of Jacksonville for two days devoted to sharing Jacksonville's programs, resources, and services available to senior citizens and their families. Free admission and parking. 

 

Senior Summer Swim Days

This summer, dive into wellness and fun with our brand-new aquatic program just for seniors! Whether you're looking to improve mobility, learn lifesaving safety tips, or simply float and relax with friends, there's something for everyone.

Senior Prom 

Friday, August 7th 5:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.
Prime Osborn Convention Center 1000 Water St, Jacksonville, FL 32204

Put on your dancing shoes and join us in celebrating more than 30 years of the Senior Prom! A sit-down dinner will be provided, along with live musical entertainment, dancing, and door prizes. Ticket Required For Entry.

Jacksonville Senior Games

September 12th - September 18th 
Various Venues Throughout Jacksonville

Celebrate fitness after 50 and compete in various athletic events and games. The Senior Games encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle for seniors aged 50 and over. Online registration required.

25th Annual Senior Citizens of the Year Awards Ceremony

Friday, October 9th

The Council on Elder Affairs, in collaboration with the City of Jacksonville is excited to host its annual distinguished luncheon dedicated to honoring the extraordinary contributions of our city’s older adults.

Join us as we celebrate the achievements of two exceptional seniors — one male and one female — who have demonstrated outstanding service to the community and/or older adults during 2024.

We will also proudly recognize a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, honoring a remarkable individual whose dedication to serving the community and older adults has made a lasting impact over the years.

 

 



 
 

Merry & Bright 2026 Holiday Festival For Seniors
*Must be 60 or older and live in Duval County

Tickets can be purchased online or in-person

Celebrate the holidays in style! Join us for dancing, dining, and entertainment at the Holiday Festival for Seniors. $10 Ticket Required For Entry. Checks are not accepted 

Tickets  are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets must be presented intact at the door. Lost or torn tickets will not be honored.
