The Treasury Division, headed by the City Treasurer, has custody of the city's funds and takes responsibility for how those funds are disbursed and invested. In addition to overseeing day-to-day spending, the division manages Jacksonville's investment portfolio, safely maximizing the interest it receives on funds that might otherwise sit idle. The division also maintains a pension office, which supports the city's General Employees and Corrections Officers Retirement System.
