The Jacksonville City Council is composed of nineteen members who are elected for a four-year term and serve as part-time legislators. In May of each year, the Council elects a President and Vice President to serve one-year terms beginning the first of July. The nineteen members are not all elected in the same manner; some are elected from districts, and others are elected at large.

In accordance with Section 15.108 (Annual continuing education and training on Sunshine Law requirements), Ordinance Code:

Notice is hereby given that the Jacksonville City Council Members will meet on Monday, June 09, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Lynwood Roberts Room, located on the 1st Floor, 117 West Duval Street, Jacksonville, Florida. The purpose of this meeting is to provide the annual continuing education and training on Government in the Sunshine and open meetings laws.

In addition to fulfilling the requirements of Section 15.108, Ordinance Code, for both Council Members and Executive Council Assistants, this training will fulfill the requirements of §112.3142, F.S., which requires that elected municipal officers complete 4 hours of ethics training each calendar year.
