The City of Jacksonville, under the leadership of Mayor Donna Deegan, has partnered with Microsoft to launch a dynamic suite of real-time transparency dashboards powered by Microsoft Azure and Power BI. Tweaked: This initiative, which was nationally recognized by Microsoft as a
forward-thinking project that redefines citizen empowerment, reflects Jacksonville’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and smarter government.
Developed by the City’s Technology Solutions Department, the dashboards provide residents, policymakers, and stakeholders with immediate access to actionable data across a range of key services—from permitting and procurement to public infrastructure, literacy initiatives, and budget allocations, with more to come.
“Transparency is the cornerstone of good governance,” said Mayor Donna Deegan. “These dashboards don’t just make information accessible—they invite our residents into the conversation, helping us build a more informed, engaged, and empowered Jacksonville.”
The implementation has already yielded measurable results. By automating and centralizing previously manual processes, the city has saved more than 600 staff hours just in 2 dashboards —time that is now being reinvested into strategic improvements and public service innovation.
“Mayor Deegan’s Transparency Dashboards are more than a tool—they’re a cultural shift,” said Wanyonyi Kendrick, Chief Information Officer for the City of Jacksonville. “They’re helping us align resources, reduce waste, and deliver better outcomes for our community.”
This collaboration with Microsoft showcases Jacksonville’s commitment to leading with data and innovation. By leveraging enterprise-grade cloud technology, the City of Jacksonville continues to set the standard for how local governments can use digital tools to deliver meaningful results and strengthen public trust.
