The Jacksonville City Council is composed of nineteen members who are elected for a four-year term and serve as part-time legislators. In May of each year, the Council elects a President and Vice President to serve one-year terms beginning the first of July. The nineteen members are not all elected in the same manner; some are elected from districts, and others are elected at large.

Volunteers Needed for 2025 International Coastal Cleanup

The City of Jacksonville’s Keep Jacksonville Beautiful invites residents to participate in the 2025 International Coastal Cleanup event.  This event, which will provide volunteers with an opportunity to help beautify the city’s shorelines, is part of the Ocean Conservancy’s Annual International Coastal Cleanup (ICC).

Mayor Deegan received a letter from Florida CFO Ingoglia today after Florida DOGE refused to complete a simple form to provide information on the quantity and names of people who will need access to our secure financial system during their on-site visit on August 7-8.
