CITY OF JACKSONVILLE LAUNCHES AFFORDABLE HOUSING DASHBOARD

October 21, 2025
As housing costs continue to be top of mind for citizens, the City of Jacksonville has released a new affordable housing transparency dashboard that tracks the development of below market rate housing, including workforce, affordable, and low-income housing units. Nearly 6,000 multi-family units have entered the planning phase, started construction, or reached completion since Mayor Deegan took office.

The dashboard details the developments, developers, and projected number of units to be completed each year. It shows the status of each development, from planning to construction to completion. The dashboard also demonstrates that affordable housing units are being built across the city, with an interactive map and breakdowns by neighborhood and City Council district. The data will be updated monthly with new additions in the future, including the inventory of single-family homes that are being built below market rate.

“Housing isn’t just about walls and a roof,” said Mayor Donna Deegan. “It’s about opportunity and hope, especially when so many of our neighbors are struggling. It continues to be a top city priority to make housing more affordable, and now we have a new way for citizens to track the progress that we are making to bring down housing costs across Jacksonville.”

“We are giving the community a clear view of where and when affordable housing is being built,” said Affordable Housing Director Joshua Hicks. “These numbers need to — and will — keep growing as we work with public and private partners to increasing the supply of affordable homes. At the same time, we will continue strengthening programs that keep individuals and families stably housed, while pursuing innovative ways to address the affordability crisis.”

“Transparency builds trust,” said Chief Information Officer Wanyonyi Kendrick. “This new dashboard is another vital step towards Mayor Deegan’s goals of increasing transparency and affordable housing. It represents another way we are telling the story of Jacksonville’s progress through data and showing how the focus on housing is delivering better outcomes for all citizens.”

Workforce housing represents incomes that are 81% to 120% of the area median income (AMI), which the max income at 120% AMI is $86,160 a year for an individual, and $123,000 for a family of four. Affordable housing represents incomes that are between 31% to 80% AMI, which the max income at 80% AMI is $57,440 a year for an individual, and $82,000 for a family of four. Low-income housing represents 30% AMI or below, which the max income at 30% AMI is $21,540 a year for an individual, and $30,750 for a family of four.

Mayor Deegan’s Transparency Dashboards were developed in-house by the City’s Technology Solutions Department. More than 20 dashboards provide residents, policymakers, and stakeholders with immediate access to actionable data across a range of key services – from permitting and procurement to public infrastructure, trash pickup, animal shelter status, literacy initiatives, and more.
