On behalf of the citizens of Jacksonville, we extend our condolences and prayers to the citizens and loved ones of those injured and killed in San Bernardino, California yesterday. 

Mayor Curry and Family Host Holiday at St. James

In conjunction with First Wednesday Art Walk, Jacksonville residents and visitors are invited to join Mayor and Mrs. Lenny Curry, along with their children, for the 4th annual Holiday at St. James on Wednesday, Dec. 2 from 5 – 8 p.m. The event will take place in Hemming Park and City Hall at St. James.

City Earns Another Win From London Visit

An international recruiting services firm filed plans this week to open a global service center in Jacksonville – a project finalized last month on a city economic development mission to London. Resource Solutions filed plans with the Jacksonville City Council that will add 75 skilled jobs to the city. The project is subject to approval of state and local incentives.

Governor's Proposed Reforms for Enterprise Florida Supports Curry's Vision for Economic Development

Since assuming office, Mayor Lenny Curry has identified priorities key to Jacksonville’s success. Among them are increased and improved economic development. Earlier this year, Mayor Curry stood with Governor Rick Scott as Dane Grey of Elite Parking Services was awarded the Governor's Young Entrepreneurs Award. Support for entrepreneurship is one of the many ways both the city and state are facilitating efforts to strengthen economic development.

Mayor and Sheriff Release Statement on Paris Tragedies

Mayor Lenny Curry and Sheriff Mike Williams have been in communications about the Paris tragedies and the investigative efforts being led by federal officials. Based on available information, there are currently no related threats or risks for the City of Jacksonville. Nevertheless, City and law enforcement officials will maintain and monitor security levels while praying for the protection, peace and healing for Parisian families and visitors.

2015-2016 Household Hazardous Waste and E-Waste Mobile Collection Events

Continuing a commitment to address blight and poor neighborhood conditions, the mayor and his administration support and promote initiatives and events that encourage appropriate disposal of waste and other debris throughout Jacksonville. One of these many efforts is through the Solid Waste Division, which is hosting 10 household hazardous waste (HHW) and electronic waste (e-waste) mobile collection events throughout the city.

JFRD Veteran to Serve as City's Fire Marshal

Mayor Lenny Curry recently announced that Chief Kevin L. Jones will be appointed as the city’s Fire Marshal. Jones is currently serving as the Interim Chief for Fire Prevention and has worked in Jacksonville’s Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) for the past 24 years supporting fire and rescue operations.

300 New Jobs Expected Based on Fidelity Investments Expansion

The City of Jacksonville is hosting the annual Florida-Georgia football game on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 3:30 p.m. The University of Florida will take home field against the University of Georgia at EverBank Field. Jacksonville has been home to this historic rivalry since 1933.

Mayor Lenny Curry has identified three area leaders to serve as members on the Jacksonville Port Authority (JPA) and Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) boards of directors. John D. Rood, chairman for The Vestcor Companies, Inc., has been appointed to the JPA. Availity CEO Russ Thomas and Demetree Brothers, Inc. President and CEO J. C. “Jay” Demetree, Jr. have been appointed to the JAA.
