The City of Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) is excited to participate in the Pet Adoption Festival, on Saturday, October 25th and Sunday, October 26th.
ACPS will be joining the Jacksonville Humane Society to showcase hundreds of the city’s adoptable dogs and cats in one downtown location: the Prime Osborne Convention Center. The festival will be held from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM on both Saturday, October 25th and Sunday, October 26th and all adoption fees will be waived during the event.
ACPS plans to bring over 80 adoptable pets each day, including puppies, kittens, and adult dogs and cats. And, with pets of all ages and personality types, every interested adopter will meet a dog or cat that’s a perfect match for their home. Interested adopters can even check out the animals ahead of time, using ACPS’s new PawFinder App.
ACPS staff and volunteers will be on hand all weekend to assist with matchmaking and providing all the information and resources that new families need when bringing their pet home.
“The Pet Adoption Festival is proof of what happens when Jacksonville comes together for animals,” said ACPS Chief Michael Bricker. “By teaming up with the Jacksonville Humane Society and our surrounding shelter partners, we’re creating one united front for lifesaving. Hundreds of pets will find loving homes, and we will also be able to open up space for the next ones who need us.”
The shelter will be closed on the 25th and 26th and will reopen on Monday, October 27th with regular hours (12-7pm).
