Jacksonville Awarded $5.8 Million SIPPRA Grant to Strengthen Early Literacy and Family Health

The City of Jacksonville has been awarded $5.8 million from the U.S. Department of the Treasury through the Social Impact Partnerships to Pay for Results Act (SIPPRA) program. This groundbreaking grant—the first of its kind ever received by Jacksonville—will drive innovative solutions to support early childhood literacy and family health across the community.

City of Jacksonville, JEA, and FSCJ Receive $2.8 Million Grant to Expand Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure

The City of Jacksonville, JEA, and Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) are proud to receive a $2.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to fund the installation of 100 electric vehicle (EV) chargers across public spaces and educational campuses in Jacksonville. The funding, part of the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Program from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will help address the region's growing EV infrastructure gap, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in Jacksonville’s underserved communities.

CITY ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT AND NEW LEADERSHIP IN JFRD’S FIRE PREVENTION DIVISION

Chief Kevin Jones, who serves as Jacksonville’s Fire Marshall and leads the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department’s Fire Prevention Division, is retiring after more than 30 years with the department. His last day with JFRD is Friday, January 3, 2025.
