MAYOR’S OFFICE & MERIDIAN WASTE REACH CONTRACT AMENDMENT AGREEMENT PENDING CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION
The Mayor’s Office and Meridian Waste are pleased to announce a mutually agreeable resolution and compensation agreement for Area II, which covers the Northside, in lieu of legal action. Council President Randy White is introducing the proposed contract amendment as a one-cycle emergency bill at tonight’s City Council meeting.
CITY TO REINVEST NEARLY $8 MILLION INTO UNF AND JFRD PROJECTS
The City of Jacksonville undertakes a review process each year to reappropriate funding that was not spent in the previous fiscal year. $7,980,286 was identified from the 2023-2024 fiscal year during the most recent analysis. Funding for the following projects was unanimously passed by the Mayor’s Budget Review Committee today and will go to the Jacksonville City Council for review and final approval.

Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments Headed to Jacksonville
Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Commissioner Jeff Bacon announced Wednesday a multi-year agreement to bring the ASUN Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments to Jacksonville, Fla., starting in 2026. This marks the first time since 2013 that the conference conducts both of its Basketball postseason events at a single site.

Volunteers Needed for the 30th Annual St. Johns River Celebration
Volunteers are needed for the 30th Annual St. Johns River Celebration, Saturday, March 15, from 8 a.m. to noon (times vary according to cleanup site). Participants will help spruce up the city by collecting litter and debris from dozens of pre-selected riverfront and inland sites (sites are listed below). The City and Keep Jacksonville Beautiful are hosting the event in partnership with Florida Inland Navigation District and Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation as part of the Florida Great American Cleanup, a statewide effort to protect the environment throughout the spring.
