COJ WARMING CENTER TO OPEN SUNDAY EVENING, JANUARY 18, 2026

The Arctic cold front impacting our area will persist for the next few days. The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting dangerously cold temperatures again on Sunday evening, with wind chills, or “feels like” temperatures, expected to be in the 20s.

The City of Jacksonville and Keep Jacksonville Beautiful (KJB) will partner with Greenscape of Jacksonville to host the America Recycles Day paper collection and free tree giveaway 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., January 17, 2026, in Parking Lot 18 at the University of North Florida. Her remarks challenged Jacksonville to move forward together — ensuring that affordability, dignity, and belonging are not distant ideals, but daily realities for future generations.

ACPS PARTNERS WITH FIRST COAST CRIME STOPPERS

The City of Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) is now officially partnering with First Coast Crime Stoppers. This partnership aims to increase the number of tips provided by the community in cases involving animal cruelty. Tipsters are eligible for cash rewards up to $3,000 if their information leads to an arrest; all tip submissions are secure and anonymous.
