Mayor Donna Deegan today announced a new round of the Jax Litter League, a citywide team cleanup competition calling on Jacksonville residents to roll up their sleeves and take pride in their community. The initiative, which runs from March 27 through July 3, 2026, offers teams of up to 20 participants the chance to make a real impact on Jacksonville’s streets, parks, and waterways, reduce litter and blight, and compete for an unforgettable grand prize.
The winning team will earn the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp game and enjoy the action from a private suite on July 7, 2026.
“Jacksonville is one of the most beautiful cities in the country and keeping it that way takes all of us working together,” said Mayor Deegan. “The Jax Litter League is a fun, meaningful way to bring neighbors, co-workers, and families together for a common goal. I’m challenging every corner of this city to get out there, pick it up, and show Jacksonville what community pride looks like.”
Keep Jacksonville Beautiful will supply all necessary cleanup equipment, including trash bags and gloves, so participants need only bring their energy and enthusiasm. Teams are encouraged to document their efforts with “before and after” photos of their cleanup area and track the number of bags collected.
