With more than two decades of experience producing films in and around Jacksonville, Barry has built a reputation for elevating stories rooted in the character and history of Northeast Florida. His work spans documentaries, narrative features, and commercial collaborations with brands including Nike, Gatorade, Mizuno and NASCAR, among others. His 2013 indie film VEER!, which followed a down-on-his-luck skateboarder trying to rebuild his life, was shot across the city.
As chair, Barry will help guide the city’s efforts to attract more commercial and narrative film productions to town, promote Jacksonville as a filming destination, and work toward strengthening local incentive programs to retain talent and support sustainable growth in the industry.
“One of Patrick’s priorities will be focusing on spotlighting the incredible talent, crews, and craftspeople who live and work in Jacksonville,” said Todd Roobin, head of the city’s Film & Television Office. “Patrick has always championed the people who make productions possible, and we are excited to have his leadership.”
“I’m honored to serve as chair and excited to continue contributing to Jacksonville’s creative future,” said Barry. “This city has been my home and my creative base for over 20 years. There’s so much potential here, and I’m looking forward to helping the industry grow in a way that benefits local filmmaking artists.”
