Congratulations to Our First-Ever Litter League Champions!

September 02, 2025

The City of Jacksonville is proud to announce the winners of our inaugural Litter League anti-litter competition — Operation G.L.A.D.D. Dads, led by team captain Michael Tyke!

From July 3 through August 30, 2025, Litter League teams across Jacksonville battled it out to see who could collect the most trash from our neighborhoods, parks, and streets. In the end, Operation G.L.A.D.D. Dads collected over 50 bags of litter — an extraordinary effort that reflects true dedication to community pride and environmental stewardship.

Their efforts didn't stop at the bags:

Photos submitted by the team showed even more bulky debris and hard-to-bag trash removed from our public spaces — proof that this was about more than numbers. It was about making a real impact.

As our top-scoring team, they’ve earned:

  • The honor of throwing out the first pitch at the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp game on Tuesday, September 9

  • A night to remember in a private suite at VyStar Veterans Memorial Stadium (game vs. Memphis Redbirds)

We’re incredibly grateful to Michael and the Operation G.L.A.D.D. Dads for showing what Duval pride looks like. Their cleanup efforts are helping Keep Jacksonville Beautiful — one bag at a time.
