CITY TO HOST HOLIDAY RIVER FEST ON NOVEMBER 29, 2025

The City of Jacksonville will host the inaugural Holiday River Fest on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
 

This free, family-friendly event will include several festive activities that stretch across the north and south banks of Downtown Jacksonville, including:

  • Christmas Tree Lighting at Riverfront Plaza, sponsored by Jacksonville Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram:
    • Attendees can get a first look at the newly renovated Riverfront Plaza (Phase 1)
    • Watch the City’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony featuring Mayor Donna Deegan, WJXT’s Rance Adams, and other special guests
    • Performances from:
      • Alhambra Theatre’s “ELF the Musical”
      • Scott Jones School of Dance
      • SK8hers Inc.
    • Snacks, hot cocoa and adult beverages available courtesy of Friends of JWJ Park
    • Food trucks, face painting and fun for the whole family
    • 5:00 PM: Performances Begin
    • 6:15 PM: Tree Lighting
  • Light Boat Parade: A fleet of decorated boats—from small vessels to grand yachts—will take to the St. Johns River for the annual parade.
    • Boater Registration open through November 20
    • Route:
      • Begins at the west end of the Shipyards
      • Travels along the Northbank
      • Turns south just before the Acosta Bridge
      • Continues east along the Southbank
    • 6:30 PM: Parade Begins
  • Fireworks Display, sponsored by Bank of America:
    • Awe-inspiring fireworks finale featuring the beloved “waterfall” effect off both the Main Street and Acosta bridges

    • 8:00 PM (approx.): Fireworks begin
  • Friendship Fountain Activities: View the Light Boat Parade and Fireworks while enjoying:
    • Debut of the holiday lights and music show at the Fountain
    • Silent Disco with a holiday music channel
    • Food trucks and beverage bar
    • 6:00 PM: Programming Starts
    • 6:00–9:00 PM: Silent Disco
      • Free headphone rental for kids 17 & under with paying adult
      • Adults: $10
  • JAX Artist Walk on Ice:
    • Ice skating (reservations strongly recommended at jaxonice.com)
    • Holiday market
    • 10:00 AM–10:00 PM: Skating
    • 2:00–8:00 PM: Holiday Market
