City of Jacksonville Announces the Blue Cypress Park - Pool Facility Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and the 2025 Pool Season

May 20, 2025
The City of Jacksonville will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Blue Cypress Park Pool Facility and announce the opening of City pools for the 2025 Pool Season on Wednesday, May 21st at 9AM at 4012 University Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32277. The ceremony, which will feature remarks by stakeholders and City Officials, will be held outside on the pool deck, with a tour of the facility to follow.

A swimming pool was previously available at this park, which was once a hub for the community. The new pool facility seeks to revive that spirit by providing a modern, inclusive space designed to meet the needs of residents of all ages and abilities. The half circle portion of the pool is perfect for families, and the rectangular area is great for recreation and lap swimming. Other notable improvements to this park in the Arlington section of Jacksonville are a newly installed playground, pickleball courts, synthetic turf flex field, upgrades to the boardwalk; and recently, a grand reopening of the golf course.
Programming scheduled for this pool facility includes a senior aerobics class offered by Senior Services and a practice facility for local swimming teams.

Additionally, the City of Jacksonville Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) is excited to announce the opening of 30 community pools for Summer 2025. 27 of the community pools will be open beginning on Saturday, May 24th.
