Animal Care and Protective Services takes in thousands of animals every year. Pets arrive as strays, owner surrenders, cruelty cases, and animals picked up by our field officers. Many arrive with no identification and no known history. In those cases our team assigns a temporary name for record keeping and public posting. That means the name shown here may not be the animal’s actual name.
This page shows every animal currently at ACPS. It includes pets on stray hold and pets that are not yet available for adoption. Stray hold gives owners time to reclaim their pets before they become available for adoption or other outcomes. If you see your lost pet here, contact ACPS or come in as soon as possible.
This page shows animals that are off stray hold and available to adopt today. These pets can go home once normal adoption steps are completed.
