Metered Parking

Making a quick stop? Don't want to park in a garage or lot? There is plenty of on-street and metered parking available Downtown to get you to where you need to be.  Our meters accept quarters, and some even accept credit cards!  The rate and maximum amount of time you may park at a meter is posted on the meter.

Temporary Rental/Removal of Parking Space:

On-street parking spaces can be rented for facilitating the temporary needs of construction, installation and repair activities. Space rentals are subject to review and availability.  If you are interested in renting a space, please call (904) 630-CITY for more information.  A completed application for space rental will need to be submitted no less than 72 hours in advance.  Advance payment is required at the time of application approval and prior to rental date.  The daily meter rental rate is as follows

Payment

Payment must be made in person at our main office located at 231 East Forsyth Street, Suite 424.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, money order, and company checks.  If paying by money order or company check, make payable to “Tax Collector.  If you are a company and request payment by invoicing, you must register with the City of Jacksonville’s Procurement Division.

Enforcement of Rented Spaces

The renting party is responsible for monitoring rented parking space for use by authorized vehicles.  Should an unauthorized vehicle be parked in a rented parking space, the renting party should contact the Parking Division at (904) 630-CITY (2489) during normal business hours (Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.) and a Parking Enforcement Specialist will be dispatched to ticket the vehicle.
