Moné Holder has advocated for communities since her teenage years and has spent the last decade working to improve the quality of life for Jacksonville residents. Raised in a working-class family and as a single mom of two children, Moné understands what it means to make hard decisions at the kitchen table while keeping the needs of future generations in focus.
With nearly two decades of experience championing advocacy, policy, and civic engagement, Mone resilience. She continues this work as the Chief Advocacy & Political Officer at Florida Rising, driving impactful change at local, state, and national levels. Her advocacy also extends globally, having represented human rights and democracy efforts at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
In 2023, Moné was appointed to the Jacksonville Planning Commission and was later elected as its first Black woman Chair. In this role, she championed smart growth, strategic planning, and sustainable infrastructure, firmly believing that thoughtful development is critical to ensuring Jacksonville becomes a world-class city.
Moné is equally dedicated to investing in the next generation through youth literacy, STEM education, and expanded workforce development. Her commitment to community leadership includes service on the Board of Directors for READ USA and The ScienceSis Foundation, as well as the Steering Committee for the Women’s Giving Alliance.
Moné earned both her Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Florida A&M University. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Jack & Jill of America, and Leadership Jacksonville (Class of 2023).
