MAYOR DEEGAN TO HOST FINAL ROUND OF TOWN HALLS
Mayor Donna Deegan will host a final round of town halls focused on the city’s FY25-26 budget.Each town hall will take place at 6pm, except for the one at Northside Church of Christ, which will begin at 5:30pm. And they are free and open to the public, with no RSVP required.

The City of Jacksonville, Office of Sports & Entertainment, is excited to announce the continuation of a storied tradition: the annual exhibition baseball game, set to take place on Friday, November 1, at 121 Financial Ballpark. This year’s matchup will feature a thrilling contest between the Jacksonville University Dolphins and the University of Florida Gators, coinciding with the excitement of the Georgia-Florida football weekend.
Jax Book Fest returns with bestselling authors, family activities, and free workshops
Jacksonville Public Library’s Jax Book Fest returns for its seventh year this September with an exciting new format: two consecutive Saturdays of programs for readers and writers of all ages. The free event will be held at the Main Library, 303 N. Laura St., and will feature appearances and book signings by three New York Times bestselling authors — Tiya Miles, Mac Barnett, and Shannon Messenger — along with dozens of local writers and activities for all ages.

The City of Jacksonville proudly announces the 2026 Tomorrow’s Leaders competition presented by VyStar Credit Union. The Tomorrow’s Leaders competition is an annual highlight of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast, recognizing and awarding youth in our community who exemplify the philosophies of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through leadership, community involvement, volunteerism, and civic responsibility. The Tomorrow’s Leaders competition winners will be recognized at The City of Jacksonville’s 39th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast on January 16, 2026, at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. Additional event and ticket sale details for the MLK Breakfast will be announced in November.
