CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, JACKSONVILLE BRANCH NAACP, JACKSONVILLE URBAN LEAGUE AND JAX CHAMBER ANNOUNCE THE 39TH ANNUAL MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. BREAKFAST, AND TOMORROW’S LEADERS CONTEST WINNERS
The City of Jacksonville, Jacksonville Branch NAACP, Jacksonville Urban League, and JAX Chamber, invite the community to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr’s life, legacy, and service at the 39th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast. The MLK, Jr. Breakfast, presented by Florida Blue, is on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center. The breakfast begins at 7 a.m., followed by the program at 8 a.m., led by host emcees Shay Simon from Action News Jax and Anthony Austin from First Coast News. The theme of this year’s event is “When Courage Leads, Love Follows”.

City Offices and Facilities Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, the following City government offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28, 2025.

City of Jacksonville Expands Warming Center Operations for Winter Season
As temperatures drop across Northeast Florida, the City of Jacksonville is taking action to help residents stay safe and comfortable during periods of extreme cold. This winter, the City has expanded its Warming Center operations to offer more locations and improved accessibility for individuals seeking relief from dangerous weather conditions.
