City of Jacksonville’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department invites the community to participate in programming in and around Downtown – and beyond

The City of Jacksonville’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is excited to share that there is no shortage of FREE happenings in and around downtown Jacksonville. There are fitness programs, live jazz and DJ nights, silent discos, photo walks, art in the park, Latin dance classes, movie nights, and more. There is literally something for everyone!

While the classes are free to attend, those interested in attending should visit the registration portal to check availability at jaxparks.coj.net.

City Announces Small Business Capital Access Programs

The City of Jacksonville Office of Economic Development (OED) announces the newly established Small Business Capital Access Programs (SBCAP), which supports the growing needs of the over 66,000 small businesses in Duval County.  Nearly 18,000 of those businesses employ 100 people or less.

City of Jacksonville Receives Two-Level Credit Rating Upgrade

The City of Jacksonville just received its updated credit ratings and Fitch upgraded the City’s credit rating by two levels – from AA- to AA+ – in a reflection of Jacksonville’s robust financial health, strategic monetary management, and strong fiscal outlook into the future. S&P Global Ratings (S&P) and KBRA reaffirmed ratings of AA and all three credit rating agencies indicated a stable outlook.

The City of Jacksonville’s Emergency Preparedness Division is closely monitoring Invest 97L, a system currently located in the southwest Atlantic that has the potential to develop into a tropical disturbance over the next several days. While it is too early to accurately predict the exact impacts on Duval County, this system may produce local heavy rainfall with potential flooding.
