MAIN STREET BRIDGE SOUTHBOUND LANES CLOSED ON THURSDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 27
Lane and pedestrian walkway closures are in place today on the Main Street Bridge as previously announced to remove the remnants of the old ramp from the Landing area and ultimately construct a pedestrian walkway that will connect Riverfront Plaza to the bridge.
In addition to these closures, both southbound lanes will be temporarily closed for one overnight shift to install a barrier wall for the project. The lane closures will start at 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 27 and one vehicular lane will reopen at 5 a.m. on Friday, August 28.
The attached plan shows the proposed detour over the Acosta bridge. Traffic will be diverted west on Bay Street, south on Jefferson Street, and then over the Acosta bridge.
Beyond this overnight closure, the southbound pedestrian walkway and one of the southbound lanes will remain closed during construction, which is anticipated to be completed by January 30, 2027. Pedestrians should follow posted detour signage for rerouted access. Northbound traffic will remain open with two lanes throughout the project.
