About Cecil Field Conservation Corridor
Cecil Field Conservation Corridor includes the Cecil Field property, which consists of 5,366 acres and donated to the City of Jacksonville on August 1, 2000 as a Conservation easement for mitigation and the Peterson Tract, which consists of 2,865 acres purchased on October 6, 2000 by JEA for $5,301,933. A Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) grant was awarded for the design and construction of a trail system through this property. The grant award is for $2,045,000. The City must complete each phase of the design and construction before being reimbursed. This grant is phased over four sections and five years.
