Jacksonville's Animal Care and Protective Services said Wednesday that the shelter has seen a "significant increase" in adoptions this year compared to last.
The announcement comes days ahead of the state's largest collective pet adoption event of the year. Several shelters are taking part in events across the state, with one location in Jacksonville.
