Mid-January Return to Service

December 30, 2013

Unfortunately, the required overhaul of the St. Johns River Ferry is taking longer than originally planned. Although it was anticipated the ferry would return to service by the end of December, the projected date is now mid-January. We apologize for any inconvenience resulting from this delay.

City Council Winter Break

December 11, 2013

In accordance with Ordinance 2005-361-E, the second Committee week and City Council meeting of the month of December are suspended, due to the Holiday Season. The Jacksonville City Council meeting cycle will resume with Standing Committee meetings on Monday, January 6, 2014.

City Council Task Force on Consolidated Government to Hold Public Input Meetings

In August, the Jacksonville City Council passed Resolution 2013-551-A, creating the Task Force on Consolidated Government to undertake an in depth review of the history, formation and operation of the consolidated government of Jacksonville. The Task Force, Chaired by Council Member Lori Boyer, is now seeking input from the public with the hope of hearing directly from residents on the effects of consolidation.

Members of the Mayor’s Advisory Board on Motion Pictures, Television and Commercial Production, the Jacksonville City Council, the Jacksonville Film & Television Office and industry leaders are gathering to celebrate this year’s highlights in local film and digital media production at the 13^th Annual Jacksonville Film Industry Reception. On Thursday evening, local business owner Ray Hays will be presented the 2013 Jacksonville Film Industry Award, andwardrobe stylist Megan Walker and director Gustavo Cooper will be presented the 2013 Rising Star Award during the event.
