Duval County Residents Invited to Participate In America Recycles Day Event with Free Shredding Services

The City of Jacksonville and Keep Jacksonville Beautiful will offer free shredding services to Duval County residents at the 10th annual America Recycles Day event. In addition to recyclables and materials to be shredded, residents are encouraged to bring items for donation, including gently-used shoes, blankets and coats, towels, trial-size products, pet food (unopened), eyeglasses, office and school supplies, and arts and crafts supplies. Richard Preston, Former Drug Addict and Inspirational Author, to be interviewed by Council Member Al Ferraro

On Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Jacksonville City Council Chamber (City Hall, 117 W. Duval Street), Jacksonville native, former alcohol and drug addict, and inspirational writer Richard Preston will be interviewed about his experiences in addiction, rehabilitation, and as an inspirational writer by City Council Member Al Ferraro (District 2).  The interview with the author of Serenity Granted and Absence of Serenity will be available for viewing on Comcast and U-verse channel 99, on the Jacksonville City Council’s live streaming web site (http://www.coj.net/city-council/city-council-meetings-online.aspx) and will be recorded for inclusion in an oral history archive.
