Today, Governor Rick Scott joined state and local officials to announce the kick-off of the I-95/I-295 North Interchange project in Duval County. The project will update the existing interchange to help improve safety and traffic flow for the Jacksonville community while also enhancing access to JAXPORT facilities. The State of Florida invested $103 million into the project.

The area’s unemployment rate was 4.6 percent in September, a decline of 0.4 percentage point in the last year. Florida businesses created 17,900 private-sector jobs across the state during September 2016, bringing the total number of jobs created since December 2010 to 1,222,500 jobs.

Residents in areas greatly impacted by Hurricane Matthew received a visit from Mayor Lenny Curry today. Joined by JFRD, JSO and FEMA representatives, the mayor provided water and food to residents in homes that suffered severe damage from the storm.
