The Ethics Commission has a long, distinguished history in the City of Jacksonville of ensuring transparent and open government for the citizens.  Among its many outstanding accomplishments, the Ethics Commission has drafted and implemented the Jacksonville Ethics Code and successfully assisted in the establishment of an independent Office of Ethics, Compliance and Oversight that is primarily responsible for administering the Ethics Code.  Per Chapter 602, Part 9 of the Jacksonville Ordinance Code, the Ethics Commission performs numerous functions, including assisting the Office of Ethics, Compliance and Oversight, and consideration of any potential violation of the Jacksonville Ethics Code.
 

Our technical team has been working with their key vendor partners to troubleshoot the network configuration issue identified on Wednesday, September 11. Initial root cause appears to be the failure of a piece of hardware on the network.

Jacksonville University Dolphins to Face University of Florida Gators at 121 Financial Ballpark on November 1

The City of Jacksonville, Office of Sports & Entertainment, is excited to announce the continuation of a storied tradition: the annual exhibition baseball game, set to take place on Friday, November 1, at 121 Financial Ballpark. This year’s matchup will feature a thrilling contest between the Jacksonville University Dolphins and the University of Florida Gators, coinciding with the excitement of the Georgia-Florida football weekend.
 

The City of Jacksonville’s Keep Jacksonville Beautiful invites residents to participate in the 2024 International Coastal Cleanup event.  This event, which will provide volunteers with an opportunity to help beautify the city’s shorelines, is part of the Ocean Conservancy’s Annual International Coastal Cleanup (ICC).

Today, we gather with heavy hearts and with a shared sense of resolve. It has been one year since the racist mass shooting at the Dollar General just up the road from here. One year since a tragedy left an indelible mark on our community and on our souls. One year since we faced the stark reality of hate and violence…a moment when we vowed to never forget the lives lost or the pain inflicted.

The City of Jacksonville’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is excited to share that there is no shortage of FREE happenings in and around downtown Jacksonville. There are fitness programs, live jazz and DJ nights, silent discos, photo walks, art in the park, Latin dance classes, movie nights, and more. There is literally something for everyone!
