CITY OFFICES AND FACILITIES CLOSED FOR LABOR DAY

In observance of Labor Day, the following City government offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Closures include: 

  • City Hall at St. James, 117 W. Duval St. 
  • Ed Ball Building, 214 N. Hogan St. 
  • Jake M. Godbold City Hall Annex, 407 N. Laura St. 
  • Yates Building, 231 E. Forsyth St. (The Office of the Tax Collector, including all Tax Collector branch offices and The Office of the Property Appraiser) 
  • Duval County Courthouse, 501 W. Adams St.  
  • Supervisor of Elections main office, 105 E. Monroe St. 
  • Municipal Code Compliance Division, 214 N. Hogan St. 
  • Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department administrative offices, 515 N. Julia St.  
  • Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department offices, 214 N. Hogan St. 
  • All community and senior centers and gymnasiums managed by the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department 
  • Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park Nature Center, 7000 Roosevelt Blvd. 
  • Victim Services Center, 403 W. 10th St. 
  • Kids Hope Alliance, 1095 A. Philip Randolph Blvd. – they will also be closed on Saturday, September 5th
  • Social Service Division Emergency Assistance office, 1809 Art Museum Dr.
  • Right-of-Way and Stormwater Management Division administrative offices, 609 St. Johns Bluff Rd.
  • Mowing and Landscape Maintenance Division administrative offices, 609 St. Johns Bluff Rd.
  • Solid Waste Division administrative offices, 1031 Superior St. 
  • Household Hazardous Waste Facility, 2675 Commonwealth Ave. 
  • The Ritz Theatre & Museum, 829 N. Davis St. 
  • Cecil Gym and Fitness Center, 13531 Lake Newman Dr. 

Garbage, Recycling and Yard Waste Collection 

No changes to the regular schedule.

630-CITY Customer Service Center

The office will be closed on Saturday, September 5th, through 8am on Tuesday, September 8th. Customers may request a city service anytime online at myjax.custhelp.com.

ACPS

ACPS will be open regular hours for adoptions (from 12-7pm) on Monday, September 7th.

Jacksonville Public Library

All Jacksonville Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, September 7th. All libraries will reopen for regular service hours on Tuesday, September 8th.

Tennis Centers 

Southside Tennis Complex will be open 9am–4:30pm on Monday, September 7th. All other tennis facilities will be closed; however, hard and pickleball courts at Fort Family and Boone Park will remain accessible.

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park:

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park will open at 8am and will close at the regular time of 8pm on Labor Day. Early bird and annual passes are required for entry from 6-8am. Park Day-users and campground visitors may enter from 8am-7:30pm. All visitors, with the exception of permitted campers and their authorized visitors with passes, must depart by 8pm.

Camping reservations close at 8pm daily. Only campers with prepaid reservations can gain access from 8-9pm. People without a prepaid pass waiting for them will not be admitted after 7:30pm. All campers must check in by 9pm, and have tents and RVs set up by 9:30pm. After 9pm, no one may enter to set up a campsite.

Huguenot Memorial Park 

Labor Day Weekend Hours: 6am-8pm, admissions close one hour prior to closing, at 7pm. All day use visitors, except for paid campers and authorized visitors, must exit the park by 7pm. Campground visitors are permitted; however, they must purchase a visitor’s pass by 6pm before the front office closes in order to stay until 10pm, and must leave promptly.

Camping reservations close at 5pm. Pre-paid campers can check in until 9:30pm. Campers may exit and reenter the park until 11pm. No reentry after 11pm.

Huguenot Park at times will experience closures due to high tides, capacity or unsafe conditions. During this period, Management will close the park for admissions and/or for beach driving. The closure of the park is a hard closure which will not allow any day visitors or shelter reservations in until the event is over, and the park is re-opened.

High tides for the weekend are Friday, September 4th – 2:44pm at 5’.7”, Saturday September 5th – 3:51pm at 5’.8”, Sunday September 6th – 4:57pm at 5’.8” and Monday September 7th – 5:59pm at 6’.0”. The north end of the peninsula is currently closed to vehicles due to nesting shorebirds protected by the Migratory Bird Act.

Pools

Outdoor pools are open Saturday, September 5th from 11am-6pm; Sunday, September 6 from 2pm-6pm; and Monday, September 7 from 11am-6pm. Labor Day is the last day of the 2026 pool season.

Cecil Aquatics

The facility will be open Saturday, September 5th from 9am- 6pm; Sunday, September 6th from 1-6pm; and Monday, September 7th from 9am-6pm. It will be closed noon-1pm for maintenance each day.
