CM Bowman to Introduce Amendment to ORD 2021-223 Local Option Gas Tax for a 10-Year/3-Cent Gas Tax for Urban Core Development Authority to Assist NW Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Council Member Aaron Bowman will introduce an amendment to ORD 2021-223 (Local Option Gas Tax) that will ensure our city finally recognizes and remedies the more than fifty-year neglect of the northwestern part of our city. The amendment will modify the current thirty-year, $1 billion legislation that is planned to be spent throughout the city and includes expansion of the skyway system to a more reasonable three-cent, ten-year gas tax with all proceeds going to the Northwest quadrant.

City Council District 3 Dog Park Now Open

JACKSONVILLE, Florida, Sept. 4, 2020 – The much-awaited dog park in City Council District 3 is now open. A ribbon cutting was held this morning to celebrate the opening in time for families and dogs to enjoy during the Labor Day weekend.

October 21, 2019 – More than 40 businesses and service providers are participating in this job fair for displaced employees of simulated gambling establishments. The job fair is Thursday, October 24, 2019 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The event will be held at Emmett Reed Community Center located at 1093 West 6th Street, Jacksonville, FL 32209. While this job fair is designed to assist those affected by the closing of these establishments, this job fair is open to the public.
