NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor’s Council on Fitness & Well Being will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, June 2nd at 12:30 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the Ed ball Building, 214 N. Hogan Street, 8th Floor, Suite 851, Jacksonville, FL 32202.  We will have a hybrid format: Zoom + in-person. Please make every effort to attend in person, but if you cannot, the Zoom link is below.

Notice is hereby given that Honorable Tommy Hazouri, President of the Jacksonville City Council, hereby calls an IN-PERSON MEETING OF THE RULES COMMITTEE, a Standing Committee of the Jacksonville City Council.  This meeting is for Wednesday, June 2, 2021, 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM, in the Jacksonville City Council Chambers, located at 117 West Duval Street, Jacksonville, Florida. The purpose of the meeting is to address all legislation assigned to the Committee and issues pertaining to governance and stability of business of the City of Jacksonville and thereto pertaining.

Announcement of Duval County Courthouse Public Art Project Winner

In partnership with the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, Mayor Lenny Curry will announce the selection of the public art project for the Duval County Courthouse lawn.
The announcement follows a national search and months of dialogue with community input. After receiving more than 140 submissions, the Art in Public Places committee selected three proposals from some of the most experienced and prominent public artists in the United States for consideration. The three finalists for the Duval County Courthouse plaza project are:
  • Cliff Garten, Cliff Garten Studio – Venice, CA
  • Walter Hood, Hood Design Studio – Oakland, CA
  • Matt Niebuhr and Dave Dahlquist RDG Art Studio – Des Moines, IA
The three-acre lawn of the Courthouse will become a safe, active urban park with multiple spaces for small events, free speech, and sculptures. View the Cultural Council’s website for more information.
