Healthy Aging with Dignity

October 08, 2021
September was Healthy Aging Month so the Mayor's Community Based Crime Reduction Program and the New Town Success Zone hosted a Community Impact Day that focused on Eliminating Period Poverty, Aleviating Hunger, and Providing Educational Healthcare information for the entire family.
32 volunteers helped distribute 3,838 pounds of food to 100 families. The City collaborated with Community Partners to provide residents with  Life Changing Healthcare Advice, Menstrual Hygiene Products, Senior Sanitary Supplies, and Grocery Packages for the entire Family. We appreciate all of our amazing partners Feeding Northeast Florida, Safe Future Foundation INC., Celebration Church, New Town Success Zone, Edward Waters University, Dedicated Senior Medical Center, UnitedHealthcare, and Florida Blue as well as our compassionate Volunteers. The residents left empowered to age with dignity and equiped with resources that will impact generations to come.

The Mayor’s Community Based Crime Reduction Program could not be a success without the support of our Community Partners. We truly appreciate their contributions that provide vital resources and reduce crime in Northwest Jacksonville's most vulnerable neighborhoods.
