100's of Veterans Received Thanksgiving Meal Kits

December 06, 2021
The Mayor's Community Based Crime Reduction Program teamed up with The New Town Success Zone to deliver Thanksgiving meal kits and groceries provided by Feeding Northeast Florida.
Family-Oriented Nonprofits, Healthcare Insurance Representatives, and Faith-Based Organizations also distributed educational materials and vital resources to Veterans as well as their families in a safe environment. The Florida Department of Health-Duval county helped spread health care literacy about their Women Infants Children, Breast/Cervical Cancer Early Detection, Overdose to Action, and Healthy Start Programs. There were over 25 volunteers that helped disperse 5,544 pounds of food and meal kits to 179 families from the New Town and surrounding areas.
