September Incidents 2016
The very first day of September, a Thursday, and Jacksonville is promptly faced with the impact of Tropical Storm Hermine and the potential for heavy rainfall, strong tropical winds, localized flooding and potential tornado outbreaks. As a result of the aforementioned scenario, the Emergency Operations Center is activated as the Mayor declares a State of Emergency effective at 5 PM that very day. Thankfully Hermine rapidly passes through the area, leaving behind relatively 'minor' damage and an impact that is best described as 'an expected effect.'
