S.W.A.T. Medic Team
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department's S.W.A.T. Medic Team works in conjunction with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. All 14 S.W.A.T. Medic Team members are certified paramedics as well as Reserve Police Officers who have completed tactical combat training for inner perimeter and entry cell operations.
Whenever the JSO S.W.A.T. team is called to a scene, members of the JFRD S.W.A.T. Medic Team deploy as well to provide life-saving skills. Typically, the S.W.A.T Medic Team deploys on calls involving a barricaded subject, hostage situations and police serving high-risk warrants for such things as narcotics or weapons.
